Because there’s no vaccination against hepatitis C
you can only stop yourself from getting it or passing it on by doing the
following:
Using
condoms for anal sex
Using
latex gloves for fisting
To
reduce any risk from rimming a latex barrier could be used such as a condom
cut up into a square (or use non-microwavable cling film)
Not
sharing injecting equipment (needles, syringes, spoons, filters, etc)
if injecting drugs or steroids. Fresh supplies can be bought over the
internet or got free from needle exchange programmes and some chemists
Not
sharing things used for snorting drugs (rolled up bank notes, straws,
‘bullets’, etc). Using a fresh note for each person removes
any risk from sharing a rolled up bank note or straw
During
unprotected anal sex anything that reduces the risk of bleeding might
make it less likely hepatitis C is passed on (e.g. using lots of lube,
not using poppers when getting fucked, fucking for less time and with
less force, not using dildos and not fisting before fucking
Doing
any risky sex acts will be risker the more times and more men they’re
done with
Because having a sexually transmitted infection can increase
the risk of getting or picking up hepatitis C, the risk is reduced by
getting any infection treated early and having sexual health check ups.
Any blood spills can be safely cleaned up using undiluted
household bleach.
